Asphalt roads are much quieter and nicer to drive on than concrete, but concrete is cheaper so we get that instead ?

You must get a large pedestal fan and put a jacket in front it (tie it on with a rubber band). Keep it next to your bed, it's a similar frequency to the road noise and helps drown out a lot of the noise. Also wear ear plugs and ear defenders.
