Democrats frantically making news stories about how when The Senate concludes 'Not Guilty' it will be unfair.

LOL Republican senators should stop giving them so much ammo. Today we saw the Senate vote on party lines to deny 11 separate amendments to the rules allowing evidence from:

White House documents
State Dept. documents
OMB documents
DOD documents
Any other new relevant documents
Testimony from Bolton
Testimony from Mulvaney
Testimony from White House staffers Robert Blair and Michael Duffey

A final amendment to allow the SCOTUS Chief Justice to decide on relevant evidence was also struck down.

It's hard to imagine someone thinking that "the world's greatest deliberative body" having a total disinterest in seeing or asking for any relevant evidence is somehow a sane, rational decision appropriate to "try" anything.

So yeah, I can see where some people might make a few comments about fairness.

Democrats blocking the Republican witnesses during the inquiry proves they are on the wrong side of history

LOL It looks like their "witnesses" still wont be there. I'm not sure what they would ask them since they didn't witness anything. Usually people who are on the right side of history don't have to cover shit up as much as Trump and friends are doing.

So, the whole thing gets dismissed for failing to allege an actual crime?

Anonymous B replied with this 6 years ago, 7 minutes later, 15 hours after the original post[^] [v] #1,082,840

@previous (C)
There are plenty of actual crimes that they can allege but this isn't a criminal trial.

Why complain about info they could have had in the inquiry? The articles are already written. It's not the Senates job to expand the inquiry

> Why complain about info they could have had in the inquiry?
You mean the inquiry where the White House refused to release documents and told people to defy subpeonas? No one is complaining about stuff they "could have had" before.

Most of what was talked about in the Senate today was admitting evidence about those articles, not expanding the inquiry.

Democrats are crying foul, yet they denied the President and House Republicans basic fairness throughout the entire process.

- Closed-door hearings
- Refused Republican witnesses
- Denied due process
- President's counsel was forbidden to participate for the first 71 days

It's like the Democrats are working for Trump's re-election campaign. Impeachment as a political stunt has backfired badly

The hearings were televised. Even the preliminary ones done in committee were attended by representatives of both parties and made public within days. The House invited Trump or legal representatives to be present as the evidence was being considered. Trump was the one forbidding his own staff and counsel from showing up or giving evidence. No one was denied due process. None of those talking points from last year are even relevant to what is happening in the Senate.

> Democrats are crying foul
Yep, they'll keep banging that drum as long as McConnell keeps giving them good reasons to do that. I don't think anyone actually thinks the articles will be seriously considered at this point. But it's fun to see how far the Senate will go to bury its head in the sand and ignore everything.

How else is he gonna get the misinformation he needs to own the libs online? Breitbart and Infowars, T_D and random twitter accounts are all fine and good but without the OG Big Daddy of made up "news" you just won't get the critical mass you need to post the maximum amount of bullshit online tbh.
