I hope so! I've had to call out a couple days already but i work as best as i can every day im there, i really do love my job. She seemed understanding the last time and told me to tell her if i had any issues

It's my first winter working outdoors; i wouldn't have applied if i knew my body would hate it so much. There's gonna be labwork after the dig is done and I'll ask about getting a position with that.

Don't be overly anxious. You are ok. Just ride it out and what happens, happens. People get sick. For fucksake take small baby steps over the next year or so towards getting out of that freezing place and into a normal climate like the UK or the US.

You're probably right! I dont usually talk a whole lot at work. Group conversations are difficult for me. It takes more time for me to think and formulate my sentences in french and with multiple people around it's hard to find a pause to break in the conversation. Getting a bit better at it though, and im using fewer english words :)
She's the big boss/owner of an archaeology firm! I can't quite see myself doing that but ill always take advice

There are 150ish archaeologists and 12 archaeology firms in Quebec. I will for sure try to talk to her when i get a chance, just not super rushed on it. In the meantime i ask my coworkers and the assistant for advice, they're all always helpful :)

They were pretty mellow, really. Mostly we kept to ourselves. But one of them had random bouts of purring where he'll come up and start nuzzling everyone, and the other one will meow and nuzzle when he's hungry.
Had a nice moment with one of them, though. He's worryingly not eating much, but in the evening I brought his food directly to him and her started eating. That was nice.
