Haha. I'm not a religious man, and I'm not yet sure how this will play out. But if I was convinced that this would spiral into a massive war and I was concerned about a powerful figure leading humanity down a dark path, I wonder where I might look?

To be fair, the Bible doesn't have a lot to say about the world outside of the eastern Mediterranean and Middle East.

Aside from some talk about Rome (mostly in terms it's relationship to the Middle East) there isn't a whole lot of talk about other parts of the world. It's not like there is a wide choice of areas available in the Bible to make predictions about. It would be more impressive if they predicted stuff about North America, Russia, or China.

Sure, but that's interpretation that someone read into the text. It doesn't say that specifically. It's just someone matching prominent figures of the age to vague details in old texts. Every period of history has someone, somewhere that went through some prophecies and matched people or nations to iron chariots or stubborn goats or the antichrist.

The predictions would way more impressive if ancient people were having visions that explicitly detailed a nuclear arms race or the rise of Russian oligarchs in a post-Soviet economic collapse or the Chinese Communist Party's drive to industrialize leading to geopolitical economic maneuvering that increased military tensions.

Given that the Middle East basically WAS the world for the Bronze Age Anthology authors, this prediction isn't really that interesting. It's like if Aztec ni??as predicted the final war would be in Central America.
