You need to bin those knobby off-road tires. Put a set of these on your bike: https://www.wtb.com/products/thickslick I put Thickslicks on my bike and it makes all the difference. They have no rolling resistance at all so you can coast for ages. They have insane grip too.
Or not even that specific brand, just either slick tires or the absolute minimum, shallowest tread you can find. Tread on bike tires does absolutely nothing on paved roads except create rolling resistance.
