I just feel numb to it now, really. It's just so constant and predictable. Trump says or does something outrageous, bad things happen, and his supporters cheer him on regardless. He never faces any real consequences because the Republican party is largely spineless and will support anything he does.
I like to hope a little that it'll end in 2020 and normalcy will resume. That would be nice.

> Trump also argued during the GOP primaries that he wanted to torture suspected terrorists even “if it doesn’t work” in producing valuable intelligence, because “they deserve it anyway.” He went on to promise to restore waterboarding practices – Trump called it a “minor form” of torture – he also vowed to bring back “a hell of a lot worse than waterboarding.”
> Once in office, Trump acted in support of accused war criminals, intervening in their cases in defiance of military leaders’ wishes, and dismissing charges against Americans accused of deadly brutality. It led The Atlantic’s Adam Serwer in November to describe the president as “a war-crimes enthusiast.”
This is one of the reasons I really don't buy the "Trump's just joking" or "can't you understand what he says is just figurative" bullshit that people say to excuse the things he says. I remember hearing that about the Muslim travel ban, his wall, tariffs, and bunch of other shit. It's always "Lighten up! It's just hyperbole to energize his base." until he actually does it.
