Foreign intervention has bipartisan support so killing some Iranian general isn't, itself, impeachment worthy I don't think (I mean yeah every Democrat would vote for impeachment and every Republican against no matter what it was, but Democrats in general are pro-foreign intervention as are Republicans). What I mean to say is killing this General Salami guy (not even going to try to spell it right) is seen as nothing too important. But I think it's actually terrible.

Yes this is actually really bad. He basically declared war on Iran (if Iran blew up Mike Esper the only question would be how many hundreds of billions of dollars worth of missiles and bombs would we drop in the first week). Because Iran is so much weaker they can't really engage us in a conventional war but as the Vietcong, Taliban, ISIS, etc. showed that doesn't matter at all. It's very possible to get the better of the U.S. without ever engaging it directly. And all for what, so Iran can replace their top general with their 2nd best general? It's actually insane.
