I can't actually remember the last time I saw someone watching a tube TV (outside of 8 bit nostalgia stuff - I mean normal people using one to watch TV/DVDs).
I saw one on the curb a few days ago. A big one, like 24" Sony Trinitron. It sat there undisturbed until trash day. 20 years ago that was probably a $500+ TV and now you can't even give them away.

A few years ago my nephew was crushed by a tube tv at his mom's house. He almost died and it liberated his liver. I had a nervous breakdown and almost did a murder suicide. Then I got put on psych meds and gained a bunch of weight. The end

You don't need a converter for nostalgia games because NTSC analog tube TVs were the *only* kind of TVs when the games were made. The Sega Entertainment System and whatnot were designed for those TVs.

Those exist, but don't cheap out on one. You want one that does upscaling, otherwise you'll wind up with one that just makes the pixels bigger. Resulting in a fuzzy image.

I was thinking about upscaling retro video gaems for HDMI input. I honestly don't know why he would want it to go the other way. You can buy a small HDTV for a hundred dollars or less.

I didn't know if they existed or not, I didn't see a reason why they wouldn't. Especially since HDMI is phasing RCA out.

The common ones are white, unbranded, and apparently have bad quality control and can fuck up on you.

So if you had to choose between a real SNES on an HDTV through a converter or the fake retro HDMI-only mini SNES on a tube TV through a converter, which would you pick?
