Did you ever succeed in finding a good chili dog? I really want you to experience how great they can be.

Nope! They aren't really a thing here. Michigan dogs are pretty common actually but I've never had one because a regular steamé or toasté is so much cheaper and quite good

I have not had a Michigan dog, what comes on them?

Meaty tomato-based sauce. Apparently can also have mustard and chopped onions, not sure if that is standard here or not (a standard montreal dog has relish mustard and chopped fresh cabbage+onion)

I don't eat ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc. excluding BBQ sauce, ranch, and mayo on fast food chicken sandwiches occasionally. That Michigan dog sounds similar to a chili dog, but is most likely less spicy.

Oh apparently at belle pro the Michigan dog does have cheese/onions/cabbage/tomatoes as well as the tomato/meat sauce. Sounds good tbh
I'm not really a fan of mustard but i like every other sauce you just listed. Mustard is just...pungent and bitter. Not my speed.

Interesting. I'm really astounded there are places where you can't get a chili dog, but the toppings they put on hot dogs in Canada is interesting to me.

That is quite interesting. The France dog and Amsterdam dog really catch my eye. Now I have hot dogs I want to try, but will have to make myself.

Oh, also, the potato dog minus the mustard.
