Topic: Tire rotation is a scam

I think it's total bullshit and I've never done it. They all seem to wear pretty equally anyway, and then you just replace all 4. Why mess around with swapping out the tires? It makes no sense at all.

Most places give you free rotation if you buy new tires from them. Or at least places I buy at have. I have a chum who owns a tire store. He once told me that is you get a rotation every 10,000 miles you will add say 4000 miles extra to a 40,000 mile rated tire. 6000 miles to a 60,000 mile rated tire and so on. Now if you have to pay for them rotations I can see where it wouldn't be worth it for the few extra miles. Tire shops usually give that free rotation then they can snoop around under your car looking for things to fix and charge you out the ass for. If they find something on mine I just say thanks for telling me and take it to my local guy who does my mechanic work.

And if you owned a helicopter would you go even further and buy even more things? It's a false economy!

Tire rotation absolutely makes them wear evenly and last longer. It is a proven, scientific fact.
