There's so many medieval trap instrumentals out there. Here is a tiny bite-size sample.

It's called trap because it was thought up in the ghetto aka the trap

Dreamworks double-posted this 6 years ago, 50 seconds later, 22 hours after the original post[^] [v] #1,075,535

Oh wait apparently it refers to the location of drug deals

Trap houses. Also I thought for a while the genre name was some mashup of thug and rap, but I'm retarded

Trap is a style of hip hop music that was developed in the early 2000s in the Southern United States.[2][1] It is typified by sub-divided hi-hats,[3] heavy, sub-bass layered kick drums in the style of the Roland TR-808 drum machine, typically in half time syncopated rhythms, layered with abstract or orchestral synthesizers and an overall melancholy to dark ambience and lyrical content.[4][5] The term "trap" referred to places where drug deals take place.

fuckin stupid, it's just rap

it's like the retarded practice of pretending that every time a new sound effect is heavily used, you've invented a new kind of techno/electronic music that needs a whole fucking new name

Sheila LaBoof replied with this 6 years ago, 30 seconds later, 1 day after the original post[^] [v] #1,075,578

and anyway, drug deals take place everywhere. if it's in a house then it's a drug dealer's house.

> Um genres have subgenres
the naming has gone into fractal insanity and it's bullshit

like those shitheads who play other people's music very slowly and show videos with japanse cartoons and pretend that it's a genre unto itself

I just thought of something - what does it mean to have a rap instrumental? That's like a zen thing, the sound of one hand clapping

ugh here's a direct link to the video I put earlier as the motherfucker prevented in-site use
