Topic: I'm just not a big fan of prime rib roast

Anonymous A started this discussion 6 years ago #94,908

It's a bit weird/mushy and the texture is almost too consistent. Beef is better with a good crust and variation in texture (and I prefer it medium rare to rare). Thank you for reading my topic.

It should not be mushy.

All you need to do is define your terms. Relax. Most people would not know that your definition of “mushy” is “absence of crust”. I mean no harm.

I apologize for my outburst. I was upset by the mushy prime rib roast I had just eaten.

Grades if Beef mostly depend on the marbling aka small amounts of Fat.
Mushy? No clue what OP means. Unless that hunk of meat was - See text

https://www.chowhound.com/post/calling-ch-meat-experts-rib-roast-mushy-699940

So OP you can see someone else had mushy meat but and I have been on Planet Earth almost as long as God existed and never have experienced Musy UNLESS its Carpaccio
https://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2013/05/italian-easy-beef-carpaccio-recipe.html

And even at that - Not really Mushy but raw beef is Ultra Tender IF it comes from the proper cut and grade of Beef and one has a Butcher one can trust because a knife they use if not kept super CLEAN - Can result in issues -
