Ugh. I can't stand this anymore. Syntax, I am going to give you a comprehensive lesson about what a Minichan UID is. Please trust me when I say that I'm doing this to help you.

The term "UID" doesn't just refer to inanimate objects. It can also be used with humans. All UID means is "Unique IDentifier", a way of identifying specific things or people in large groups.

Look at that Wikipedia page. You'll see examples of it being used for humans, such as national IDs or contributors to academic papers.

A Minichan UID is kind of similar to a user account on most other websites. It lets a user maintain a consistent identity as they post. The reason you have over 300 of them is because you never made login details for one, so you keep creating and accumulating new UIDs on your IP every time you clear your cookies or use a new device. This is why people accuse you of creating UIDs. To them, it looks like you're posting using lots of accounts to make it look like lots of different people agree with you.

Here's an example of how Minichan UIDs work. When you post anonymously in a thread, you're assigned a letter. So when I join a thread, I might be Anonymous C. If I stay on that UID, I'll be Anonymous C every time I post in that thread. If I logged out or started using a different device and posted in the thread again, I would get a different letter. I could then log in to my first UID and become Anonymous C again. Look at the picture I posted to see the page where you can create login details for a UID, thus making it permanent.

You said that you didn't create a permanent UID because you were afraid of "tracking". However, I assure you that doing this wouldn't give the mods any extra information on you. The only important information us mods can see about you is your IP, which we can already see now. In terms of identifying you, most of your UIDs have a note attached (reading something like "this is Syntax") so mods can quickly identify you when you post. So we always know when it's you posting anyway.

You don't have to have a permanent UID. Not having one is fine. But I would still recommend getting one. You'd stop people making 310 UIDs jokes, and you wouldn't look like you're samefagging.

He actually might not be. Syntax's UIDs are often consistent over short periods. And then when he stops using one, he never uses it again. The way he changes UIDs in threads is also very easy to detect and just makes him look bad more than anything else. So it certainly looks like he's unintentionally making more rather than intentionally manipulating his UIDs.

Upgrades on Sun Solaris workstation's and a couple of LapTops and Tablets and a few phones and two PC's - ALL Property I use but DO NOT OWN - This PC was NOT supposed to be touched by them. 99.99999% of the time my Work as billed to a client IS NEVER performed on this PC. However contractually Qualcomm does maintain the right to log into this PC and they decided to do a Deeeeeep Virus and Malware scan Remotely via their servers and that was/is OK with me.

Alas they fucked up at the very end and ran a program that INCLUDED CLEARLY ALL MY Cookies OUT - Prior to that move I was rewarded as a regular user of TC the right to PM other members at will. Loss of cookies and that right is gone. I of course could go to TC Admin (who never ever posts on TC) and request restoration.

Another item I lost was PM's from TC to me and MC PM's to me- Gone Gone Gone. All cookie dependent. Worst of all was 100% of my banking was messed up in total. None of my banks recognized my Not one credit card company recognized me and just about every password required changing - A Huge fukin pain!

So to restate - Years can go by b4 I clear my cookies.

Can tell you this for a fact - A set of 4UMS I used for about 25 years could clearly tell Exactly what and how I do it. I even once paid a high price and later even a higher price and later many higher prices for the Right to own an ID and have to Log in - I did one that was beyond Obscene and got 1000's of complaints to Mods - Mods just took the money because those ID's were $30 each and were not about to cut off the cash flow because I chose to use an ID that was so beyond Obscene and directed to only one member of a membership paid for 2500 people + paid the $30 but they also got some cool features MC does not nor will ever afford.

Much like Huffington - Those that use it also have nice bank accounts for the most part.

What? I do NOT go out of my way to NOT use it again. I frankly cannot think of a case where I have. One ID I try and avoid but most of my play 99.7+% is multitasking and so I may make a mistrake and that ID would be interesting to figure out on your end but I sure do not do that often - Hell maybe not in the last 60 days. Trick is for me to remember a sequence which on many occasions has to be somewhat random. I could say how I do the many ID's is downright easy. Alas it does take a clear mind and I can get tripped up. Call it a Mazz with the pattern in my brain -

Reminds me of my first visit to a Supercomputer center where they had a Monster of a Machine that just kept track of the Mega Monster Supercomputer.

I could use such a keeping track computer because often the change of ID's is not always rational.
