I dont know much about impeachment. So far it seems like an opportunity for the Democrats to whine and make fancy off topic speeches.

Everyone really makes off topic speeches. I watched a few hours worth of democratic and republican politicians making off-topic speeches today. It's mostly a chance for one party to find a good excuse for their rightful actions and the other party to complain about all the excuses they would be touting if they were impeaching a different president from the other party. Impeachment is a step that requires a good deal of the legislative branch to agree that a president did something wrong and should be removed.
How similar do you think the vote of no-confidence is? I gather it isn't the same as the US where impeachment carries the threat of removal from any office.
