9AM on a Sunday. Go back to bed, nerd. Nevermind, I saw that you were at the airport.

I mined 1.5 bitcoins back in 2011, when it also wasn't worth the electricity, but I was interested in it as a concept. I hung onto them until the market spiked near the end of 2017 and then did a bit of trading, playing with around 0.25BTC, and made about £1000 & 0.2BTC. I kind of wish I'd been more daring at the time, but I'm happy with the profit. With this type of market, being this patient is about the only way you are going to make any kind of profit.
The most effective way to mine is to join a mining pool, though I wouldn't recommend it these days. But if you still want to get into it, trading is a better option, and now would be an OK-ish time to buy (although not as good as it was at the beginning of this year). Unfortunately I missed the smaller bull around July, but I'm fairly sure there's another one coming. https://pro.coinbase.com
