Fun fact, the Mueller report actually made a profit for America, based on all the money it got back in unpaid taxes from the people it jailed (Manafort alone cleared the cost of Mueller's team's entire salary). 32 million spent, an estimated 40 million gained. Trump neglects to mention that minor detail when he drones on about how expensive the investigation was.

I have a feeling that they don't really care too much about UK politics per se. They do stand to benefit from breaking apart political, economic, and military alliances. Breaking apart things like NATO, the EU, or the UK by stoking internal nationalist and isolationist sentiment seems to be working really well for them on both sides of the Atlantic so far.
