OTC sleep aids are pretty much just Benadryl. Like most antihistamines, it makes you drowsy. You can take handfuls of them without too much worry. Mixing them with vodka is a great way to fall asleep. I highly recommend it. It really brings the hammer down on that pesky consciousness that gnaws at you and keeps you awake late into the night.

I've never had the opportunity to play around with prescription sleep meds. I'm told mixing benzodiazepines and alcohol isn't pleasant. The warnings I'm reading about on the web look interesting though. I'm a sucker for some good paranoid delusions and suicidal depression.
