I actually had that same piece of equipment (Launchpad) but sold it.

I'm not a live-performance oriented person. I like everything to be arranged and automated by me first.

In theory, if everything clicked I could compose something similar, but it's still above my talent level.

Is it something like playing an instrument and you're just not there yet, or is it something that you either have or you don't and you'll never be there?

He's technically playing an instrument here, but he has also artfully found and arranged the right clips together. (The latter being the most difficult.)
It's really a double edged sword.

I regularly both surprise and disappoint myself when it comes to my own musical talent. Maybe I will be there someday, maybe I won't. Who knows. I just keep making music. Though, it doesn't seem to be getting worse, only somewhat better as I write more and more. I guess time will tell.

I should have phrased my question differently. I'd wager if you took the risk and effort of mashing some songs into something original you'd do just fine. Do it faggot. Using 39 songs gave him a lot to work with, the launchpad is just gimmicky, I'm sure it takes practice and all, but the same thing could be accomplished with editing.

Work on a mashup yo. Maybe use some Lady Gaga, shit like poker face is catchy.
