Mail Carriers (City) or for a larger starting salary (Rural)
Customer Service / Delivery Department of the USPS
City Carriers deliver mail in the more populated areas of our country.

You’ve seen them…zipping around in those cool white jeeps, with the steering wheel on the right side of the vehicle. What fun!

Mail Carriers get to enjoy the great outdoors. These brave workers perform a vital role to our communities, and are highly respected.

The great thing about Mail Carriers is that many of them enjoy it so much, they want to keep doing it for their whole career.

Mail Carriers are amazing people. One thing they all have in common… they are persistent. They are overcomers. They can solve problems.

These postal workers are responsible for making sure all packages and mail is delivered to each address within their assigned territory.

Mail Carriers receive starting pay of $19.93 to $27.54 per hour, depending on geographical location. This position is eligible for federal benefits and is a full time position.

GOT THAT. You can start at $27.54 Hr.

Because it involves actual work.

As pointed out in another thread. Bert was dishonorably discharged from the Navy. Rape of his bunk mate, but he says he was putting his penis inside a hole in the mattress and must have slipped just a little and that was with no lube.

He’s not a mail carrier. He works at the USPS depot and sprays down the trucks with a hose for minimum wage as a contractor without any paid benefits or long term job security

I think Walter has a good job, I've never mocked him for it. I've only ever mocked him for his sexual preferences.

Agree. I support him and his job but I cannot get past his thing for men with boob implants, that wear a wig and he wants that for a wife.

You're retarded. Stop spewing Matt's lies. The union would never allow good work like that to be contracted out. And yes, it's a much better job to have than carrying mail in the snow.

The only bad part of the job at USPS is the weird vehicle rules they have for those little white vans. They have to literally park it and turn off the engine every time they drop off mail, which means the starters of the van can go out quite quickly. If they find out you left the vehicle idling to drop a package, even if it's somewhere where the next person around is football fields' away, you can get fired.

Seems ridiculous but understandable. Certainly a lot of work for a starter motor given how many times they must do that a day.

Leave it idle and van is quickly stolen.

That's the "official reason" they use now, but one of the reasons was due to "emissions pollution" during the 70's.

@1,066,168 (Meowth)

They're also literal death traps and the government has spent a shit ton on maintenance. https://www.trucks.com/2019/09/03/postal-service-delays-new-mail-truck-contract/

Wow, what a great read. I had no idea it was that bad.

> They lack essential functions such as air conditioning, airbags or anti-lock brakes

> They are too small to accommodate the e-commerce packages that make up the bulk of the mail today

> The mail trucks are so old the Postal Service has trouble recruiting automotive techs who know how to fix them

> The old aluminum-bodied trucks also are prone to fires
> More than 120 burned in the past five years, including 22 so far this year

i work for a private courier company and the vans we have are ballin out of control, wifi, amazing ac/heating, loads of room, cameras on the front and back so you never have to worry about clipping anything, loads of usb and 12 volt ports, gps etc. Bert wouldn't be able to use them though because we transport medical devices and also doner stuff for hospitals and you cant have a felony. Downside is that because we drive all over the state the hours can be long and the hospitals are usually in super rich locations, ive seen houses so big that I've never even seen them on tv and sometimes i have to deal with incompetent interns or even more incompetent residents which blew my mind (these people are doctors and specialists yet they cant grasp the concept of what an invoice is or what it even does (most of those are indian though, surprise) Though a lot of the doctors are cool people and love to have a chat because they work in such a crazy environment theres no time to really do anything. I remember speaking to one of them about the benfits of being a doctor and he said "Even though you make a lot of money and have a comfortable life in terms of job security and social hierarchy, you're stressed out all the time and are on call 24/7 and many times you are doing crazy stuff like working 34 hours straight with no breaks or anything, so if you think about it that way and especially because of the fact you have no time to stop and smell the roses, in terms of being a job and getting paid its really not all that great, i should have been a mechanical engineer"

e: he also mentioned when he was in medical school it was like he went in and then blinked and an entire decade of his life was gone, and how incredibly surreal it was.

Yep but you won't get fired unless you're on probation.
@1,066,220 (introman !/3ZwFHfJFI)
There are also the promaster vans and they have AC and are modern and more equipped for parcels. Those get snatched up by seniority workers though.
