The people who invaded the British isles developed a language. It was a fine way of communicating but only a mere step in the process. Only once the language was free from that backward little island was it able to grow and flower into the brilliant USAmerican language. Your people created a template onto which greatness would eventually write itself for all the world to see. Surely your ancestors should be commended for carrying the torch for a while, but don't go filling your head with notions of grandeur just because some distant relations of yours remembered a few noises long enough to grunt them in a sequence.
