Externally hosted imageYep and you must like that added Extra Oak

As a result of web use back about a decade ago I met up with the Admin of a site people refere to as Bianca - She was newly married to a Scotsman and plans called for dinner on me - Bert will remember her as Voxeralla - Dinner consisted of HUGE Seafood Platters - Full of Lobsters, Whole Dungeness Crab and Snow Crab Legs Oyester's Clams Shrimp Mussels AND at Voxeralla's request I needed to buy a bottle of Red and I mean a Big BOLD Red which the restaurant did not carry but could be purchased 1/2 block away. Now sure the very Ideal of eating fresh seafood with a Big Bold Red seemed very strange to me at the time but I was totally going to please Voxeralla so I did as requested

The Wine WORKED Most Purfect and the Restaurant was shocked until staff all got a taste (Two Bottles) So there was NO extra charge for the outside bottle

End of evening the Husband who also ran the Bianca Technical help site - He suggested a bar that had the largest selection of Scotches - I was a Scotch drinker and had a few Single Malts but NEW Nada about Scotch - He proceeded to consult with the owner of the Bar and out came 24 Shot glasses and then bartenders came with varieties of Scotch - Low Higland Islay's and WOW did I learn and LEARN and took notes and still have them - From light with no oak to Heavy with OAK And the variations of Smoke - From almost no hint of Smoke to Smoke so thick the clouds of Smoke poured into my nose and mouth.

HAVE Not tried the Japanese versions of Scotch YET - Ceems like they should be making more better Sake's

This is my go to but I do have The Glen's as well

Mate, 50 year old scotch is not your "Go to" that probably costs £10000 per bottle at least, maybe tripple that.

Did you even get your end away with that bird? She seems very demanding

2nd fuck up on reading a reply 2nite

Yea at my age there are many things I buy and have NO Clue what the current price is - I go to store and pick this n dat and pay with credit card and don't look at stuff clerk is ringing up. NO Chance of picking up a bottle of $50.000 anything because such items are kept in locked up cases AND even with AMEX that card is NOT going to get passed through without having to talk to AMEX on the Phone.

Most I ever spent at one time on AMEX was to refuel a 747 Pan Am plane in Spain IF I remember the actual country and for sure I had to talk to Customer service to get that approved. A few weeks later that airline went BankRupt - Was truly once a great airline and even once owned by Howard Hughes.

Fuel cost was around $11,000

I'm not a big fan of 12 year old scotch. I always believe you got to try 15/16 year old Scotch to enjoy it. 12 year just feels like dipping your toe in.

I might one day splash out on a 21 year old Scotch.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pan_American_World_Airways#Bankruptcy

Bankruptcy

Pan Am was forced to file for bankruptcy protection on January 8, 1991. Delta Air Lines purchased the remaining profitable assets of Pan Am, including its remaining European routes (except one from Miami to Paris), and Frankfurt mini hub, the Shuttle operation, 45 jets, and the Pan Am Worldport at John F. Kennedy Airport, for $416 million. Delta also injected $100 million becoming a 45 percent owner of a reorganized but smaller Pan Am serving the Caribbean, Central and South America from a main hub in Miami. The airline's creditors would hold the other 55 percent

About three weeks or even one week prior to this event I was on a flight from somewhere on business HOME and tired as all fuck and just wanted to get home. I don't even think I asked why the plane had to land in Spain (I am 95% sure it was Spain) and it landed only to fuel up - My guess is the Pilot had issues getting a total fill up at some prior point because I don't think Spain was a planned landing.

Anyway we are on the Tarmac for a short while and I was in First class. I could overhear the flight attendants saying the plane could not be refueled because those that provide the fuel wood not take the pilots Pan Am credit card. It was denied - Tired and just wanting to get home I said HEY I have a NO LIMIT Amex Platinum credit card. I was taken up on the offer and of course Amex talked to me on the phone and took only seconds or maybe one minute in total to say OK. I was dumb as all fuck because I had no way nor any knowledge Pan Am was in such deep trouble - Could have been stuck with that charge.

When plane landed their were Executives in New York at the Airport with a cashiers check and a slew of free tickets which I never used. Not that they wood have been any good as a guess. All I wanted to do was get home

Ask me some other time about another slick move I made to get to where I needed to be - Have several stories people may or may not believe.

In life one finds it's possible for one person that wants something and finds a road block - AND Finds a way around it - OR at least tries

I tried something today that is risky with my 2nd Fav Bank - Will be on the 3rd of Dec B4 I find out IF they will do as I need OR I have to take them to court and I have not once taken a bank to court

So the plane is at the airport and the aforementioned situation develops.
So they immediately run to the passenger section and inform Mr Syntax a valued VIP frequent flyer of the details and he saves the day by suggesting he advance 10,000 off his credit card.

Does anyone believe that shit?

Betting we ALL wood be stuck on the tarmac for HOURS or even Days while the situation waz resolved. Nor did I for one Nanosecond consider trying to get my luggage which was MUCH Stuff for personal and Work wize - I volunteered the use of my card.

@previous (jodi !ariasXXmaE)

> everyone knows about Syntax's no limit amex platinum credit cards

Nope - At that time the Amex Platinum was $500yr but did have kick back $$'s beyond the high points. Looking at them currently it's now $550 but you can get a kick back of $200 on incidental air travel AND there really are some amazing benefits and I never ended up paying for the card because I could bill clients as part of my overhead costs. Alas I had to cut wayyyyyyy back on such consulting because there were 54 Satellites to get up and get running and get people trained on how to do all of that - YES I did it with a team - But I said NO NO to being top dog because I wanted HANDS ON and Top Dogs in Corps never get to do hands On. So about one year later like 1992 or 93 gave up the card.

Qualcomm employees ALL no matter the title get classy Credit Cards as well as even a Technician or Assistant of some sort that needs to travel - They get Business Class as a bare minimum and a pass into Airline lounges - Tickets for travel are issued by Qualcomm and get this - They give the employees ALL of the POINTS! Just one class act company.

Now Amex will tell any person that drops Platinum and goes with the Green or Blue's - You still show up on their System as a Platinum person so you end up getting beyond the great normal customer service Amex is FAMOUS4

One day now as Ex-Employee I expect Qualcomm to ask me to return all of their credit cards - I make sure I ONLY use them in the companies best interest - U can be sure of that. Showing that card in places like San Diego gets ''Extra Respect" and of course employees and consultants with the cards ALSO GET THE DAMN Points - What is there not to love about Qualcomm? Even Trump LOVES Qualcomm - After all he saved their ass recently from having their balls and internal Organs chopped off

With Trumps sloppy 2nds understanding of Geography he thought the Chinese were trying to take over the company - Good thing Trump is dumb as all fuck
