I read about this yesterday as the Internet picked it up pretty quickly. The charges have more to do with fraud and illegal access than with downloading and copying. It'll be interesting to see where it goes since word on the net is that JSTOR does not want to prosecute. I hope he gets off with a slap on the wrist.

I got a few emails from demand progress that misrepresent what he did.
They compare it to checking out too many library books, but his actions were disruptive and criminal. He doesn't deserve jail time, but people should know he is not an honest person.
