Topic: Why are cats so weird? My cat who went to the vet is hissing at the one who didn't go to the vet.

I could understand the cat who didn't go to the vet hissing at the one who did, but the other way around? I don't get it.

The cat who didn't go to the vet was taunting the cat who did go to the vet, so you saw the cat who did go to the vet telling the cat who didn't go to the vet that he should shut up.

The smell of the vet one has taken on new smells from the vet's office. Smell is a huge part of a cat's recognition system. She recognizes the vet cat, but the smell is not right, so in her little cat mind, it is dangerous. She will get over it.

What if I told you the top post was a coded message to one of the mods?

It is not about stress; it is about smell.

Okay, but does the cat who stayed home smell different to the cat who went to the vet? That's what I don't get. The cat who went to the vet is upset with the one who didn't.

It sounds like it's about stress. If it were about smell, then a familiar smell would probably be comforting.

The vet one probably also smells it’s own vet smells and is upset. The home one is just chill to begin with.
