What chaos are you talking about? Trump supporters don’t see any chaos. They don’t see anything wrong with the Trump administration. They watch Fox News, which turns any negative reporting about Trump into a conspiracy against Dear Leader — i.e., “fake news” — or Fox simply doesn’t report it. It’s not like most Trump supporters are objectively absorbing diverse sources of information on a regular basis. They have long ago convinced themselves that anything that goes against the approved “conservative” narrative is simply “bias”.
If it’s bias, you don’t believe it.
So there is nothing to ignore, because to the average Trump supporter, all of the chaos that the rest of the sentient universe perceives emanating from Trump, or surrounding Trump, or resulting from Trump’s actions, just doesn’t exist. Impeachment over extorting the president of Ukraine to open a fraudulent investigation into Joe Biden and his son, Hunter? Fake news. Trump said it was about corruption, and Biden must be corrupt, so that proves, to the average Trump voter, that the impeachment hearings are a sham.
How do they know Biden is corrupt? Innuendo, supplied by Fox News. Same as with the Clintons.
The Turks tricked Trump into withdrawing our troops from Syria, leaving the Kurds exposed to genocidal ethnic cleansing at the hands of a NATO ally? To the average Trump supporter, the issue is, “What is a Kurd?” Anyway, Trump says they are terrorists. Must be true, right?
Retired admirals and generals have finally lost it, and are openly calling for accountability for Trump’s incompetence and corruption? Deep staters, one and all, just like Clapper, Brennan, Comey, Rosenstein, half of the FBI, everyone in the CIA, all the way up to President Obama. No chaos there because of Trump, you see. It is all because of nefarious forces who want Trump out; nefarious forces who are so powerful that they concocted a bizarre conspiracy to deny him the election, then concocted a bizarre investigation to remove him, then “exonerated” him in that investigation (but it’s still corrupt), then saw extortion in Ukraine when Trump was just fighting “corruption”. In Ukraine? No, with the Bidens. See above.
And now all those career diplomats openly testifying before the House of Representatives? That just confirms that this is a grand conspiracy of the deep state. Aren’t you paying attention?
All of that is crazy, you say? If these people were so intent on denying Trump the election, they would have simply told everyone that he was a Russian tool, you say?
Hey man, these people looked at Trump, a well known moral reprobate, financial bankrupt, and admitted sexual predator, whose own lawyer subsequently testified before Congress into years of tax evasion, money laundering, and bank and insurance fraud, and perceive not the inept head of a minor crime family in league with Russian gangsters, but a self-made billionaire (really, they believe that) who built a massive, international business empire (really, they believe that too). A paragon of virtue, the defender of the forgotten man in flyover country, the incorruptible savior of Red State America — delivered to them by God Almighty himself.
Ask any evangelical. They’ll tell you that, with a straight face.
There is no chaos in Trumpworld. Well, not yet. No matter what they see on Fox News, and no matter what they tell themselves on their Facebook posts, Trump really is a corrupt moral reprobate, financial bankrupt and admitted sexual predator, who is currently under investigation in at least four US Attorneys’ offices, the State of New York’s Attorney General’s office, and the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. He will be impeached by the House of Representatives before the end of the year, and when the evidence is put before the Senate the overwhelming majority of Americans will be screaming for justice so loudly that Mitch McConnell will have no choice but to hold the trial, and most of the GOP will vote to convict him.
Then Trumpworld will no longer ignore the chaos in the White House. They will just attribute it to the deep state conspiracy. Which, by then, will obviously include Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, and Ted Cruz. And at least seventeen other GOP Senators.
