No I mean like if the US said to the CSA in 1860 "okay fine we'll let you go, you're a sovereign country now you can do what you want". Under this scenario the North wouldn't have to do anything and there wouldn't be any cause for war.
Where I think this scenario would have been really interesting is how it would have changed modern politics. No Bible Belt, no "Southern strategy", half the red states are gone, the US-Mexico border would be a lot smaller, there would be a very long US-CSA border, probably with its own border politics where the North welcomes African-American refugess from the CSA but puts white CSA immigrants in ICE camps.

It'd be nice if it could be turned around but it doesn't look possible..
