“Obviously, we never want this situation to happen again,” said City Councilwoman Amy Worth.
She and her colleagues scheduled a special hearing Tuesday night to discuss the shooting and possible regulations to prohibit out-of-control parties. Councilman Dennis Fay is pressing a temporary elimination of short-term rentals, along with changes to an ordinance the city passed in 2017. It requires property owners to register with the city if they plan to rent a room or home for less than 30 days.
“This whole thing of being able to rent a house and then turn it into a party house is ridiculous,” Fay said

yeah any time there's a boom of any sort, it's great if you are the one making the money, but if you already live there you just get higher rents or property taxes while making the same garbage income shoveling shit at the barn
