Have you considered becoming an 18 wheeler driver? I am being serious. I think it might suit you. Think about it! You can get trained and certified pretty quickly, cheaply, and easily. They make pretty damn good money, most of it cash. Also, you are alone for the most part anyway. You can see the country, meet people, travel. Have you considered this? They make, like, $50k to $100k depending on whom you drive for.

Not a good profession for an alcoholic. Also, Bert fundamentally does not want to work.

There once was a fellow named Bert
Who complained that his ass hole hurt
When he finally sobered up
pulled his fingers out of his butt
Then he licked them clean for his dessert

You can even be a hotshot driver if you can manage to get a truck that can pull a flatbed. Getting into the transportation business is a pretty good venture, unless you believe the hype about it going autonomous in the near future

Like we could build robot old men to hold accountable? That's just so crazy it might work! There's certainly going to be a market for blame pointed at old men as the boomers die off.

@OP

Trucking would be a good idea for him. If he wants he could live in his truck and never have to consider himself homeless. Also, it could help him save money as he would have no bills to pay, other than cell phone.
