Taxing the rich is a good idea. Then the money can be spent improving things for other citizens. Also, the conservative fantasy of a survival of the fittest society where the poor are ignored and public services are gouged just isn't realistic.

I don't know, I think that a Democrat wouldn't be surprised or emotional about minorities being individuals with their own political beliefs. In contrast, it's a very Republican idea to dislike minorities that aren't on their side but brag loudly about ones who are.
