Topic: Matt, is there a reason to prefer quick-rise/instant yeast over regular dry active yeast...

...or vice versa?

For making bread. Trying an "easier" recipe with some yeast in it for my first sourdough although I know that's not traditional, I hear using the starter only is harder to do if you're a beginner.

There is a tropical storm going thru Lafayette today. Matt said he would be out all day filming the devastation. Or at least that is what he said last night on FB. But it might have just been a drunk shitpost.

Just use a quarter less instant yeast and obviously you won't have to activate it but otherwise it doesn't matter at all. You're welcome!

McWalter, the only difference is that you have to activate normal yeast in warm water. Otherwise it is all just yeast.

I know but be honest here..it does sound like something you might have said if you had been drinking last night right? And I started drinking early today so at the time it seemed like a good idea. Now to get in my microbus and do a few doughnuts in McDonalds parking lot.....zzzzzzoooooo000000000mmmmmmmmm---------------> lolol
