It was pretty clear. You aren't helping the poor with a minimum wage.
Higher price curbs demand almost always (unless we are talking about status items, like clothing, which the brand itself is what people are buying fdor social status).
Higher prices to hire an employee means fewer people hired, and eliminates many jobs (people pumping gas, ushers at the movie theater) and eliminates many entry level jobs.
If someone is worth $6.00/hour to a company, then they go unemployed, because the minimum wage is not worth it. You are denying them more than a $6.00 job, you are denying them the work experience, and training, to get better paying jobs in the future.
The minimum wage is also environmentally unfriendly, it causes places to buy one-use dishes because they are cheaper than hiring dishwashers, which wouldn't be the case if you could hire people for cheap.

OP is serious here, Nick. Without paper boys, prices would spiral out of control, and the once proud state of Oregon is making people poor by pressuring them into pumping gas. We've all been swindled on a world-wide scale. The only remaining question is: Who is responsible? It could be the Illuminati, but I would wager the reptilians might ultimately be behind it.

I live in Oregon, and I'd prefer to save money and pump it myself. Most people I know have the same feelings.
For the consumers that want to pay someone to pump their gas they can do demand it themselves, instead of forcing it down the throat of others. Oddly though, in states where the law allows choice, people chose to pump their own gas.
