I have been working at Qualcomm full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
Qualcomm is great place to work. It is full of smart people. Open door policy promotes a cooperative atmosphere. Great Gyms. Nice working conditions. Free food. Long hours. Great pay. Not as expensive compared to Bay area. What's not to like except the long hours. Bonuses are nice.

Just to preempt any complaints or conspiracy theories, the other Qualcomm threads were deleted because we don't need four threads about Qualcomm made by the same poster.
This one can stay.

> Some say this the real reason Broadcom dropped acquisition deal like it was a hot potato.
LOLNO, Anyone saying that is a moron.
Broadcom's takeover was directly blocked by an executive order from the White House citing national security concerns. Hostile takeovers don't usually get put on hold to consider whether the company being bought out is being unethical.

Most excellent - Bert is just so pissed off that a Great Company 2Work4 IS NOT on his menu Ever.
Great companies do not hire people dishonorably discharged from Military Service and adding a Three decade Heroin Junky and Fool tyme Thief to any company staff usually does not work out much so good.
@previous (D) > Broadcom's takeover was directly blocked by an executive order from the White House citing national security concerns. Hostile takeovers don't usually get put on hold to consider whether the company being bought out is being unethical.
Concern had more 2do with Owner of Broadcom and his ties to China. Back door issues that bother DOD and US Spy agencies. Was amazed Trump wood follow advice from people he despises like FBI CIA NSA and One I NEVER EVER Mention but it does have a budget that is bigger than all the other 3 added 2Gether
Broadcom once was a very nice company until the current owner bought them out - Broadcom makes the CPU for Raspberry PI and it's the same basic technology Qualcomm licenses from the Brits - ARM (RISC) Architecture.
At the same time Qualcomm was unable to purchase a Dutch company NXP because China refused to take action by allowing such a buyout - That was bad for NXP but maybe in the long run good for but I dare not say who it wood be good for or SEC wood be on my back n I wood end up in lock down by USGov

Monster companies have great difficulties. I wish I could say more about the possible connect for NXP and Qualcomm and some day maybe. It's like back when Ericsson wanted to buy in2 Qualcomm and I was a consultant on assignment for Pacific Bell of the old Ma Bell. Pac Bell wanted to get in2 Cell Biz against an old Rival Airtouch now Verizon and Airtouch was a Ma Bell company as well. The incest among those two Baby Bells is beyond anything that makes common sense.
So anyway Pac Bell which was actually a former Airtouch THANG Figured a great short cut wood be to acquire Ericsson's TDMA technology and do a startup as PacBell Mobile services (Now Fully AT&T wireless)
Ericsson wrote and published a technical paper proving that Qualcomm's CDMA wood never work - Proved mathematically it wood NOT WORK and even proved the Physics of CDMA was in Error and actually BOGUS.
While living working in concert with Ericsson in Sweden I reviewed the Published paper and well Ethics 101 - I found so many holes in that published works and by Co~Wink~e~Dink so did the VP of Engineering for Airtouch who funded Qualcomm to actually go and prove CDMA was the Answer to how to do Digital Wireless Telecom.
PacBell says to me what the fuck you doing - We sent you to become Expert on TDMA not CDMA - You are not being Ethical - I in return sent them a copy of Ethics 101
Came back to USA - Helped get them going with start of use of TDMA and bailed to be a Robotics Consultant where I failed in the most personal terms possible - But did keep my Ethics 101 in place as I watched from afar as AT&T struggled to get any speed efficiency battery life number of users per base station and revenue while Verizon was kicking ass and still is 2 this very day.
I wish I could say I have always worked for Ethical companies but alas I was a consultant for MCA/Universal studios for USA 1st Video Recorder for home use - Discovision - I saw so many Ethics violations at MCA/Universal - It wood make Harvey Weinstein look like a Saint.
Ethics and Technology - Probably more better than Entertainment companies but then again Cell biz has become the platform to deliver Movies n TV?
Y people like tiny Microscreens seems Unethical in my view.
Chromecast is good and other tools to put the content back on BIG Screens -

You tried to program one of the robots to give you a hand job, didn't you???????

@previous (G)
It was programmed to Break a single LARGE Sheet of Glass in2 tiny Shreds
And then using super high speed cameras and some Stuff I learned from Irwin Jacobs in a class wayyyyyy back at MIT and from a class at UCLA and later at UCSD with Andrew Viterbi the other co-founder of Qualcomm, I used stuff I took directly from the class and applied it to being able to Tag ever single spec of flying glass/debri and used a Huge Team of Engineers and Techs to build a Pick n Place to grab and reassemble that glass plate in front of a crowd of people at a Robotics conference - It only worked Good about one in 3 or 4 attempts and in the night b4 the event it wood NOT work at all in multiple tries.
Yet on the day of display it worked more better than at any other time - Just about commited suicide over that project cause it took me to the end up my technical limits multiple times cause I am NO Mechanic and Robots need Mechanics. Every person that worked for me on that project totally respected ME
Me? I had NO NADA ZERO Respect for myself on that Gig and of all the people to bail me out of that Gig was Qualcomm who I refused to work for in past but with an offer I could not refuse re they wanted to get into Satellite Biz and I jumped ship faster than the speed of lite
Robots OUT of my System 4Ever
