We city dwellers are so used to that, we don't even really hear it anymore. Are you some country bumpkin?

I'm in a pretty small city. Car alarms aren't that uncommon here, but when you do hear them, they're off in the distance. When it's right under your window it's difficult to ignore. I used to live in a bigger city where it was far more common and it didn't bother me, I could even sleep with police sirens wailing all night, but since moving here I guess I've grown accustomed to a more quiet atmosphere.
