Let's say someone in Los Angeles committed financial fraud (say, something like a Ponzi scheme) against someone in Louisiana, and that person in Louisiana wanted to report the perpetrator to the authorities and file a criminal complaint. Would that person contact the Los Angeles police, or the FBI?

Why did you bring up your dad again? If anyone is curious enough one can even find Matts dad, with an address in West Los Angeles just a few minutes walk from a residence Syntax once resided in. Not a Joke.
