Topic: Svet/Erik - I have an urgent question for you re: Brexit

Boris Johnson confirmed on Friday that he will ask the EU for yet another extension if Parliament can't agree on a deal by October 19th. This is after he had promised the Brexiteers that he would never do that and that Britain would certainly leave on the 31st. I have 3 questions for you:
1. Are you surprised at the lie this serial liar told you?
2. Do you feel a bit silly believing someone who has built an entire career out of being a dishonest grifter whose entire political strategy is telling low-information simpletons what they want to hear no matter how dumb it is?
3. What does it feel like to pin your hopes on the most incompetent and provably dishonest politician in Britain?

He's still saying he'll send the letter but we'll leave on the 31st come what may, right?

What's stopping him from sending a letter like:
Dear EU,
Pretty please may I have a Brexit extension of 1 minute? Thank.
Luv Boris.

@1,047,768 (tteh !IAMGAYLOL)
The decision to leave "come what may" isn't his to make. That's why it's hilarious that his fans believe his bullshit. It's also why, 3 weeks after unequivocally saying "no" when asked if he would ask the EU for another delay ("No. I'd rather be dead in a ditch"), he has - surprise surprise - gone back on his word. Because as everyone except his retarded followers knew at the time, his 'word' would have been illegal.
So I'm interested to ask Svet, as a Brexiteer, if he is shocked that a pathological liar lied to him.

Why do they keep phrasing it that way.
They are not moving from one spot sand going to another.
It sounds so dumb.

Do you have any quotes, or just gloats?

I also reckon it's likely bollocks, but it wouldn't surprise me if Johnson doesn't genuinely believe he's found a "loophole" of sorts (e.g. "the Benn Act requires me to send a letter formally requesting an extension, but then I'll send a second letter to the opposite effect"). Perhaps that's just what he wants his retarded fans to believe.

I had a good idea for a loophole, basically on October the 19th he writes the letter and then gives it to a man who starts to walk to Brussels to deliver it, thus ensuring that the letter does not arrive until after Brexit day.

@previous (E)
A few interesting people (Lord Sumption amongst them) have said it would be illegal in their view to apply for an extension and then take any steps to negate the request. It'll be interesting to see what Boris's "loophole" consists of (if one exists at all).

Ooh what if he writes the letter, but doesn't letterhead it from Downing street, or sign it, or make it look at all real, and then when everyone's like well where is the letter boris he can just take out his proof of postage and be like bazinga
