Topic: How do packages just "get lost", fora?

Anonymous A started this discussion 6 years ago #92,185

Externally hosted imageIt's a tracked delivery. It was 2 stops away from my flat when the ETA changed to "Arriving tomorrow". Next day, another new ETA: "Arriving Wednesday". Oh, okay. Wednesday: lost it, lol.

I've had it happen through the postal service. If you don't have it insured, you can kiss it goodbye.

You need to wean yourself off Amazon

Stolen by the driver or crushed/broken by the driver

I’ve had packages stolen by drivers when Amazon contracts shitty courier services instead of using FedEx or UPS.

They will say delivered though when that happens.

I've had packages damaged/delayed en route, but that's always been included in the updates on the tracking info. I've also had packages marked "delivered" that haven't been. I also ordered an S10 earlier this year and the box arrived empty (maybe the delivery driver nicked it, maybe someone at the fulfilment centre, idk).

There's just something strange about seeing "Your package may be lost" as an order status from Amazon. "May be?" Like, it's your own delivery service, surely you know what's up with each item? Do you know it's lost? Has it been damaged?

@OP
Post your credit card information and home address and I'll reach out to my people at Amazon and see if I can find it for you.

Someone stole it. Thanks.

I like to imagine that -somewhere- a less-than-moral delivery driver is thoroughly disgusted after smoking Becky's homegrown catnip and washing it down with a ranch flavored soda.

If only there were some physical version of Amazon, where people could go and buy something and walk away with it directly after paying.

If only! Amazon sells millions of items. No physical store compares.

They could put store fronts on their shipping hqs, where you come ask for an item, they get it from the warehouse, and you pay and leave.

@OP

This mistake is on the delivery service, not Amazon themselves.

It's Amazon Logistics. The delivery service is Amazon. :(
