When is Rosh Hashanah in 2019? This year, Rosh Hashanah begins at sunset on Sunday, Sept. 29, and ends two days later at sunset on Tuesday, Oct. 1. It's the start of the Jewish month of Tishrei, or Tishri, which falls in September or October, according to the Gregorian calendar.

This year I missed its beginning and its ending.

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, is one of Judaism's holiest days. ... Rosh Hashanah commemorates the creation of the world and marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, a 10-day period of introspection and repentance that culminates in the Yom Kippur holiday, also known as the Day of Atonement.

Something does not add up and I will leave that to others to toil over.
