Huh, I'd never imagined bears living in Florida. Apparently they do. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) even tracks bear populations throughout the state. I don't weigh 500 pounds or have a thick coat of fur. The heat and humidity made me want to get back on the plane and leave Florida almost as soon as I arrived when I visited. How do the bears do it? I don't know.
If you see any bears, I would recommend showing them travel brochures for other states. That's not a tip FWC will give out, but I suspect it might work. Stay safe!
