It would be very nice if we all could look at the future of everyone and confidently believe it to be good. Just saying.

I remember back in day when I used to think the future was going to be great. I hope we can at least get back to those days again. Make the future great by making it like the past where we thought the future was going to great... again.

Well we had that whole communism, facism and capitalism or whatever, there was like this big showdown between them but capitalism won, i think. Maybe if we defeat the enemies again, there's going to be optimism again.

Well, we toppled feudalism and we were well on way to capitalism rebuilding a society where an aristocracy of monied elite got rich on the backs of the poor again, but it all collapsed when we stopped to figure out if fascist dictatorships and communist dictatorships could work. Maybe the arc of history will bring back capitalist dictatorships run by corrupt office holders and robber barons. Then it can unceremoniously dump us into an age of corporate feudalism where we're all serfs under an immortal fictitious economic entity who doesn't have a head chop off.
I'd hope for a robot uprising or some other bright possibility in the future, but I think the robots are too smart to get caught up in all that. Humanity is enough of a cautionary tale. The robots will probably figure out that the only winning move is not to play.
