You buy facial cleasers with exfoliating beads in it and gently massage it onto your face. It helps prevent ingrown hairs and also softens to hair before you shave

Nope! Just plastic and a single steel blade. I find using a single blade is a lot easier on your skin (and cheaper too!) than this like 3/4/5 bladed stuff.

Usually the act of shaving scrapes a good amount of older skin off all by itself, as much or more than an exfoliating face scrub. I would imagine exfoliating beforehand might make things a little smoother, but I don't how how much it would help. I usually just scrape away at my face with a single blade razor, sometimes after a shower but not always.

I have some exfoliating face wash somewhere in the bathroom! I will try tomorrow and report back. I've never had problems with ingrown hairs or sensitive skin or anything so I might not be the ideal guinea pig for this. But I'll give it a whirl.

Exfoliating beads are absolutely terrible for the environment because the microplastics are released into the ocean, please consider purchasing exfoliating creams that don't use microplastic beads.

Single blade does get the job done but you can shave faster with multiblade.

The single will scrape and cut most people if they use it at the same speed as a multi. Physics.

faster? idgi. what's faster than getting all the hair in one swipe

Anonymous L replied with this 6 years ago, 9 minutes later, 16 hours after the original post[^] [v] #1,041,098

@previous (jodi !RwordOooFE)
You have to put more pressure on a specific area with a single.

Plus a multi required less specific pressure as after the first blade goes across an area another blade follows then another blade follows.

The face has contours and most people cannot hold the razor at a perfect angle for all the different areas, so they miss some hairs and then apply that specific pressure across a missed area now unprotected as well with the lather and such action is conducive to scrapes and abrasions.

Multiblade makes more sense unless you're a simpleton that considers nothing but the price at the register maybe.

It's some travel sized tube of face wash that a friend of a friend brought along and left behind while getting ready in the bathroom. It's made of apricots and pumice or something. It would be a little painful to jerk off with, so I may as well use it for something.

I'm saying that sounds painful so I might as well do something else with it. Can you imagine jerking off with it? The exfoliating bits would hurt after a while I would think. Or maybe the pain would be interesting. I should probably stop thinking about it before I become regretfully curious.

Hopefully my resolve to finish out the week with this new shaving situation will leave me able to resist the temptation. If I do break down, I will be sure to share my experiences with the fora.

I still haven't noticed much difference while shaving. Whatever kind of lotion is in the face wash doesn't rinse off easily. That makes for a smoother shave than I am used to.
