Despite getting a 0% from a few progressive critics on rotten tomatoes, it's well received among the public.

my normal ass bro ass brother who loves Dave and definitely aligns with his recent humor didn't even like how he handled that last one. he said he liked it kinda but agreed that he took it too far w/ cranky old man act

I think amongst comedians themselves, there's a disagreement about how clean comedy should be. I can understand why some might not like it, i have to say though that Dave Chappelle was great in this one, as Dave made his risky jokes he seemed indifferent towards the possible consequences but not because he's a indifferent man but why though I don't know.

it's not about cleanness really! people love stupid dick jokes across the board. he seemed anything but indifferent about the response he was going for in this 1 tho. he wanted it so he got it, idk. now he just sound like a bitter old Seinfeld 'u won't let me make jokes' guy

Those types of guys do exist unfortunately. There's also the opposite where there's a guy thats like this "only jokes that i like!" and so it's all very complex and problematic I'm afraid, no easy conclusions from that one.

The worst part of comedians who sell out massive theaters and get Netflix specials heavily promoted where all they do is bitch about how's they can't tell their jokes anymore? Probably their total lack of self-awareness.
