Topic: why doesn't Shaiby just move to USAmerica?

Externally hosted imageThere's free stuff there!

Free housing, free food, free clothes, free transportation, free healthcare, free education, and it's all available to everyone for free!

No one has to pay for anything if they don't want to, just tax rich people! It's the green new deal, and if it is not implemented then the world will end in 12 years.

You do realize that Canada gives more free things than the US in those areas and hasn't collapsed into a socialist dystopia. People who think America adopting Canada's social welfare policies will turn the U.S. into Venezuela and not...Canada are definitely rworded.

Their Quality of their so called free healthcare has been somewhat ridiculed.
Anything requiring a specialist and you're going on a year long waiting list and you WILL pay out of pocket.

Do you even have any health insurance? America also rations healthcare, but we do it by pricing people out of the market and tying it to your job. Why is that better? I don't get why you continually punch yourself in the dick rhetorically to justify maintaining a status quo that actively hurts you.

The government in no way is tying insurance to your job. That's just capitalism. Insurance is a business industry. They provide a service and thus earn an income from that.

If government begins to provide that service or facilitate that service you better believe they will collect profits from doing so. HIGHRR taxes.

Both.
@1,036,648 (E)
The government isn't doing that, I agree. The market is doing that. The market for health insurance sucks. I can't choose my plan. I can't choose my doctors freely. If I lose my job I lose my health insurance. If my job changes my plan, I have no say in what they change it to. Seeking medical care without health insurance is absurdly cost-prohibitive. All of these things are bad and totally unnecessary, and happen because our health insurance system is patchwork and haphazardly assembled. Doing it in a single, unified, universal way makes a lot of sense. Doing anything else is sentencing people to bankruptcy and death.

Currently my employer pays around $500 per employee per health plan. It's more for older people, sicker people, people with families etc. We also have to employ people specifically to manage these benefits. The current system is more expensive for most working people, and most businesses, than a Canadian-style system. That criticism makes zero sense. You're spending less money for worse and more unreliable outcomes by doing it via private deductibles and premiums rather than via taxes. You're spending the money either way, I don't see why it matters if it's to the government or to a private business.

You can but only to another doctor in your network. Many doctors are part of multiple networks but there's no real rhyme or reason to it.

If the government takes over management of insurance or does universal medicaid...the higher taxes you will subsequently have to pay will inevitable cost you more for care that is substandard to what you are accustomed to at present.

Dont you get that?

Medicare and Medicaid have lower administrative and overhead costs than private health insurance companies do. Patient satisfaction is comparable or better with public insurance providers. That's just not true as far as I've ever seen.

You can be billed $50,000 for staying overnight in an ER under private insurance. This argument you think you're making is incredibly weak.

I can verify this from personal experience. I went to the ER for about 8 hours one time, and was billed 27,000 dollars.

No, but I did have keto acidosis from using prescrption speed and sleeping for 18 hours w/o taking enough insulin. Luckily I didn't cause any permanent damage in my miscreaous youth.

Just sitting in the ER in a room waiting on tests and/or for the doctor to make his rounds back to you does not incur any sort of charges like that. I have seen my share of hours long ER visits.
