It is legal for any citizen to carry any "bladed tool". You can carry a fucking katana on your back, yet we still have to pay out the ass for decent health insurance. ???

BNs can be dangerous for everybody. Not only can they break people's face its entirely possible for the person improperly holding them to break their fingers.

His people already ate their prime minister so it wouldn't be a huge step up from that.

@OP
Was the brass knuckle thing ever really enforced that you saw? Like did people actually get in trouble for it? Was there ever a time the cops had to confiscate someone's brass knuckles while not batting an eye at the shotgun and AR-15 they were carrying?

I'm not sure. Neither I nor anyone I personally know has owned/carried them so I can't personally speak to enforcement of it. It is (well, was) enforced though because the impetus for legalizing them was a woman who ended up getting charged with a class a misdemeanor for having a "kitty keychain" (pictured) which fell under the brass knuckle ban (she was charged with the misdemeanor after an arrest for a traffic accident unrelated to the kitty keychain). Everyone then realized the law was antiquated and totally retarded and the bill passed near-unanimously.
I think borderline obviously female self defense stuff like the kitty keychain might get a pass from a sympathetic cop. But a young man with brass knuckles? Not a chance.
Bill author Rep. Joe Moody, D-El Paso, said lifting the ban was "another step" toward getting rid of "antiquated laws regarding weapons."
"We did it with switchblades. We did it with knives and now with knuckles," Moody said May 15, when the Texas Senate gave the bill final passage. "Hopefully, now, with this on the way to the governor, we can ensure these types of laws aren't being used inappropriately to go after folks who have legitimate tools of self defense."
This is the attitude lawmakers should have towards self defense. An armed society is a polite society.
