Topic: My pathological relationship with money

Anonymous A started this discussion 6 years ago #91,070

When I don't have it, I dream about it. I think about how much better everything will be once I have it, my apartment will look like it's out of a ikea magazine or maybe some kind of ultra cosy hideout. Then I get the money and it's so obvious that i didn't factor in the hardwork it takes to make a decent home. So then I just end up having this money and really only chasing after basic simple pleasures like fast food. I'll have all this money and not even have the idea to update my pretty old wardrobe. Then I just start blowing it on stupid shit like a over priced hotdog from some absurd kiosk. Then there's the days where for some reason the idea of buying food, even though im starving, is a dilemma because i kind of realize I'm not well and people can tell.

There's this gigantic fun quota I have to fill everyday though, hard to have priorities with that.

Even before your parents were born there waz kiosk all over the nation - Hot Dog on a Stick or is that Shtick?

Girls wood jump up and down in miniskirt and make lemon-aid - Was nuff to inspire Katy Perry to dress up so she could jump up n down while making music.

and OP

Funny how money not ever once had me thinking about
> over priced hotdog from some absurd kiosk

There was a tyme when there were gals who did jumps up/down making hot dogs for dipping in some corn dog brew and in short shorts. Then political correctenessess came in2play

Katy showing how to do but not hotdogs

Now no more. Jumps were only to make lemon aid and that was when girls were real girls and not imaginary gurls.

I put in my reply with far too much Tequila after a mixed bag of fun for a Sunday evening. Your topic is well written and really deserves more but my fingers are not working so much so good for a decent reply.

Let me say this about money. Back when I was a teen all I wanted was just enough money to support my Ham Radio hobby and then then Girls happen and sperl check has crashed except it now catches my on purpose miss-spell - Weird because without spell check there is no hope for me and you to communicate. Wtf? it goes in n out like In n Out Burgers.

Anyway - So Girls came along and money is needed for hobby but girls ...So long story short I end up Married. Money takes on a very different priority. It's no longer a choice of Hobby vs Girls/Women/in~Love/Married/ It's survival and the need to care for a protect the one you love.

Now all of that is complex so complex it wood take baggles of Word Salad to explain. What I did learn after so many years is really simple. One NEVER has enough money and when one thinks they have enough along comes bumps in the night and all of a sudden you need more much more than you have.

What I will ask you to do is talk to Wade aka Dead Pool. He seems happy enough as he travels Planet Earth with little to NO Money as he tries to figure out life as it is without the constraints for just working for the man for more money. Sure there are rough patches along the way.

Remember this - Lots of people with lots of money have horrid lives and commit suicide. Robin Williams seemed happy very happy and he sure had a lot of money and even a lot of friends but MONEY did not keep him alive.

> Then there's the days where for some reason the idea of buying food, even though im starving, is a dilemma because i kind of realize I'm not well and people can tell.

Starving is supposed to drive you to find a way to make money. As a young kid I found all kinds of ways to make money. More than I needed at the time. Ask me later how I made LOTS of Money Mowing Lawns - Honest really I found a way to make far more than regular people who mow lawns for a living - Was Hard HARD very Hard work which even the Pros wood not tackle.

Not saying that is the road you should take but there are so many ways to make money. I stocked shelves in a Supermarket and even a Liquor store and delivered Liquor and beer and food to parties and that was from a Mom n Pop super small store in a dicey part of town. Got Tips and almost got killed a few times. And I actually enjoyed that work because taking out the trash was MY Trash My evidence of work performed - For some odd reason there was more pleasure from taking out my trash then the pay check.

Hey I rote this on too much Tequila but honest to the Roman n Greek Gods it's the full Truth the Whole Truth so help me Buddha.
