Too lazy and weak to crush a lemon with their bare hands. Discuss.

Have you had to deal with any lemon-stealing whores on your property?

A bottle of lemon juice for £1 that lasts a few weeks or a few lemons that last a few days. I think I'll stick with bottled lemon juice thanks.

No it’s in my backyard and isn’t hanging over the back fence

The lime tree is pretty decently sized, I planted the lemon tree maybe 4 years ago and it’s still pretty small

It's like a buck for many months' worth of lemon juice. If I'm planning on cooking something where i need the zest then i'll buy the fruit but otherwise why?

And dry-aged wagyu beef tastes better than a clearance ny strip steak, but if I want to eat steak I'm gonna go for the cheaper option.

No but sometimes I'll want to cook something with lemon juice as an ingredient and I'm not gonna run to the store to buy lemons specifically for that. They go bad quickly.

Real lemons taste better because you have to WORK for the juice.

A man who routinely squeezes lemons with his bare hands would not ask this question.

I was cooking for some guests about a month ago, and one of the dishes I made was grilled tandoori chicken. One of the guests took me aside after dinner and said, "Did you marinate that chicken in REAL lemon juice? I could taste it! That teaspoon of REAL lemon juice you used in the marinade really stood out above the garlic, peppers, and all the spices you used to season that chicken! I could completely tell that you used fresh lemon juice because my taste buds can analyze food in the time dimension relative to squeezing and pick that just-squeezed flavor out among all the numerous other flavors! I'm so happy you didn't use bottled lemon juice or try to substitute a teaspoon of lime juice in that liquid that touched the chicken for a little while. I totally would have known."

Shortly after thanking him for his high praise, I woke the fuck up from my dream because shit like that actually happen.

Lemon Tree
Peter, Paul and Mary
When I was just a lad of ten, my father said to me
"Come here and take a lesson from the lovely lemon tree"
"Don't put your faith in love, my boy" my father said to me
"I fear you'll find that love is like the lovely lemon tree"
Lemon tree, very pretty, and the lemon flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat
Lemon tree, very pretty, and the lemon flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat
One day beneath the lemon tree, my love and I did lie
A girl so sweet that when she smiled, the stars rose in the sky
We passed that summer lost in love, beneath the lemon tree
The music of her laughter hid my father's words from me
Lemon tree, very pretty, and the lemon flower is sweet
But the…
