Daily TC and other chan like sites and there are many that call themselves something else but operate just like a Chan, have been fighting off the Bots. Very cleaver and I only recently learned that the Bot is AI enough to quickly spot a reply to it's Topic and it has a canned reply instantly back at you. I even made a mistake and replied last night.

It systematically browses MC for example, looking for a reply to the spam package it deposited. Uses Web crawling/spidering software, to update their web content. Does nothing until some sucker comes along (as I did) and on the next crawl it sees the reply and deposits a reply to me, that is specific to content in my reply. If I were to put up a Spam image, it even comes back with replies to justify the Spam.
There is money behind that operation.
