Topic: Do spiders you find inside, consider it a favor if you take them outside?

Anonymous A started this discussion 6 years ago #90,940

I've always thought I was doing the spider a favor. But what if I'm not? What if I've ruined all of his plans?

Then kill it and put it out of it's misery.

Yes. Do not kill spiders in the house: they are good luck.

Spiders inside only live off of other bugs inside.
Relocate them if you must, and enjoy those other smaller nasty critters, that will continue to live with you.

sometimes the spiders in the ceiling beams drop down some silk-wrapped desiccated ants onto the floor and i get this linty mix of bug bits on my futon so they are kind of annoying

I'm fine with inside spiders doing spidery things in dark corners and under furniture. They usually get relocated outside or chased back into a dark corner if they venture too close to my sleeping area or human food. The cats aren't as diplomatic as I am, but spiders can usually hide from them by just standing still until random neural firings in the feline brain cause the cat to get bored and pay attention to something else.

Spiders are gross.

I don't kill spiders ever! I'm just wondering if they can survive inside. Are they happy inside? Do they want to stay inside? Should I be exercising my raw human power to relocate them? What do the spiders think?

@1,034,682 (F)
Yes, it was actually the cat danger that worried me. My cat did the same thing with a spider the other day, clearly was going for the kill but the spider stopped moving and the cat lost interest and moved away.

Do you think there's enough food inside for spiders?

> Do you think there's enough food inside for spiders?
That's really something for the spiders to worry about. They seem to come inside easily enough when it gets wet. I assume they can find their way out just as easily. There must be enough spider food in my place to sustain a non-zero population of spiders because they haven't left or died out yet. I'm not sure what they eat. I don't get many flies inside here, but they are welcome to all the ants and silverfishes and dust mites they can catch. So long as they don't start eating the food in the pantry and making themselves cocktails, I'm happy to coexist.

I don't bother indoor spiders, unless they are dangerous to humans.

Oh, so killing spiders is wrong but killing babies at the planned parenthood clinics is fine.
Interesting.

You should probably figure out what you're making fun of, before trying to do this unfunny shtick. Thanks.

Guess what? You choose to live in a dilapidated house for cheap rent.
Nothing wrong with that but the pest problems come along as part of the deal.

You're saving money though right, and that's very smart. You can't have your cake and eat it too, until you pay your dues.
There are many ways to deal with the indoor pests and now is the perfect time to be working on that while the furries are not there to be affected by the ways that contain chemicals. There are some natural methods also. you'll just have to research.

I only kill spiders as a reflex, like if they fall into my lap, otherwise I put them in a cup and take them outside. Or leave them alone if they are chilling in a corner (unless it's above my bed).

If you see them in your house it is almost certain that they will crawl on you while you are asleep.

Your mother should have been arrested for giving birth to you. Abortion should have been her better option.

Warm and moist spaces, attract silverfish

Silverfish attract other insects. I use Orkin to solve this YET they tell me there is no solution other than keeping them on contract and neighbors including next door neighbor SRF Church have multiple buildings and houses along with the church and they use Orkin as well and continue to call them in to get rid of Silverfish

As Chili said they are horrid just horrid creatures. I have tried bug poison sold at Home Depot and eye dropper into various moist paper including a wick setup to keep the paper moist and hide them in various out of the way places. As far as I can tell none of that does any good.

The OTHER THING THAT WORKS - This Beach Area is a Termites HEAVEN. So tenting every 3-4 years is the only option. One can see a trail of DEAD Silverfish almost in a long line DEAD as they tried to escape the OXYGEN FREE Environment. The Gas used by Termite people is NOT Poison. It's a HEAVY GAS that drives out the Oxygen to the Edge of the tent and bugs cannot survive without and Die Dead Dead and more Dead -

Maybe I should Tent every year?

Guess you missed this TOPIC
minichan.org/topic/90948

Was made by a Fyne MC member - It NOW is updated with the ONLY Spiders you need check up on so your Cat will not be eating venom - The statement that most spiders do no harm to a Cat is generally TRUE.

Are they happy in your home? Of course they are. They came in from outside and inside they will STAY and reproduce but only if YOU have Other Insects for them to Dine and Thrive ON.

They used to creep me out too until I had a run-in with a bunch of them that were living in an old box. I pulled a cardboard box off a shelf in the garage, and the bottom fell out along with a large number of silverfish that were living there happily eating away at the bottom of the box. It turns out that having a bunch of really surprised silverfish dumped all over the front of you isn't that bad. They mostly just run down and get the fuck away from you in a hurry. Maybe humans creep them out or something. I didn't even have that weird haunted feeling you get after walking through a spider web where you keep shaking out your clothes and hair just in case the spider didn't quite get the hint and is maybe still hanging on somewhere.

If you don't want silverfish inside your stuff then you just need to make a silverfish hotel for them to all live inside
