Topic: What can CPS do if you moved away before the case was open?

Anonymous A started this discussion 6 years ago #90,901

Oops, sorry, no children here.

They can go ahead and shut the case now, right?

They're going to ask where they moved to, they won't just drop it if a claim was filed.

Oh, she didn't leave a forwarding address, she just said it would be hundreds of miles away and my niece would never see me again.

Running from the law is one of the dumbest things you can do. I hope for theor sake, that they have fled the country. Otherwise it is only a matter of time before it catches up to them.

They left before CPS ever came! How is that a crime! She was not under investigation when she left! They moved out after the police came over because the house was unsafe, she was.not going to let her children be harmed! How was she supposed to know CPS would open a case? Think! She left before CPS was ever here!

Technically, the case is open once a claim is filed. Unless the claim was directly related to living conditions, they will still want to follow up.

If the claim is related to living conditions, why are you living in a dead-end hovel?

CPS is stupid! They don't live here!

But why, praytell, are you living in a dead-end hovel?

I'm not. The issue is not the house.

Oh, so they will want to follow up.
I would advise you tell them to get off the meth, before CPS figures out where they are. I'm guessing it is too late for that though. Expect to be asked questions, apart from where they are now.

You could just incorporate your child in the Cayman Islands.

Oddly enough I moved out the same day. Got my nee driver's license today to probe it.

You're most likely in the clear then, unless they know you were living there. In which case, they may try to find you in order to get info. Can't say the same for your bro and the gorilla woman.

But they can't. They are gone. So can I be arrested if I move out of state suddenly and the cops want to come conduct an investigation and are looking for me and I had no idea that they would be looking for me am I wanted in some State states away that I went on vacation last year do you know for no reason and so they're just going to go ahead and file court case against me because I wasn't at the hotel I stayed in
