Topic: My job in New Caledonia starts on Monday

I'm both stressed out and excited.
Probably the best perk of the job is that before I even start I end up saying in a Noumea resort from Saturday afternoon and go to the job site on Monday, lol. That's enough time to fuck shit up and get sent home, but I'll be on reasonably good behavior I guess. This job is only for a month.
I'm working night shift, it's $70/hr, time limited to 48hrs/week, accommodation and food supplied, and I get the weekends off at a Noumea resort Saturday morning to Monday morning. I start work again Monday night. Mostly it's 4pm to 3am.
I've never worked a night shift before, and it's a dry site so there is no booze allowed (fuuuuuck) I'm pretty sure this is going to mess with me in ways I don't know about yet. There might not even be wifi idk. I'm going to take a pack of cards.
I shall search for a suitable Minichan commune area on the island, and report back about the availability of monkey butlers! I already have a weed and shrooms hookup from guys I know who are working out of islands further away, but I'm out because I'm in the drug testing pool while I'm here... It's just good to know that there is a shitload of mushrooms and weed available in the communal garden of Nouvelle Minichadonie.

Ah, good. We have been putting out some feelers about buying Greenland for this purpose, but the lack of monkeys and some rival bids have brought the whole process to a halt. We will need some fresh suggestions going forward. Please keep us in the loop.

Seriously though what are you doing tradework? Like building? That’s pretty good money considering but the hours and times are nuts some I’m curious if you’re on some 24/7 worksite for a new hotel or something

I've been postponed for a week already lol. This job is going great so far, the first crew has been stuck doing nothing because the container has taken longer than expected and hasn't even cleared customs yet.
