Have to agree with Svet here. The only acceptable proteins in a salad are cheeses, hard boiled eggs, and anchovies. Ham, bacon, chicken, etc. are disgusting.

Foie gras is banned again but you can order it at a some restaurants in Little Italy. I saw a news article about it being sold illegally at a food fair in San Francisco too. Doesn’t seem that restaurants really seem to care about the ban.
