You absolutely can buy it. Governments can sell land they own to other countries. I think this is probably on the whole not a bad idea. Is it going to happen? No probably not.

You don't buy people, you buy the country they live in. It's like if you buy a company, you don't actually buy the employees, you just buy the office building and the machinery and whatnot. The employees are free to stay or not.
Given that we have to literally build a wall to keep illegal immigrants out, that shows you how desirable American citizenship is. They have Danish citizenship, which is pretty nice - don't get me wrong - but now they get American citizenship. It's like getting upgraded from coach to first class. People in Mexico would be ecstatic if we bought Mexico, because they would finally actually have a nice country to live in.

The best country. It's just the best. Filled with the best people. The best country you could imagine. Someone came to me today with tears in their eyes telling me that buying Mexico was the best thing we could have done.

He can throw more paper towels at them when they complain that their glaciers are melting! It'll be great. Why do they even have glaciers? We'll show everyone how global warming is a Chinese hoax on Fox news!

Thanks for the laff and NOW back to work on an assignment I should NEVER EVER said Yes to - I told a huge committee and multiple teams I am the wrong person for the task but no one else was willing to tackle it - So back to making a schematic - resistors and IC's and such and pipes and cavities at Frequencies I have not worked on in like 25 years so this Gig is totally out of my realm - Going to subcontract a bunch as soon as I can find a sucker to take on 60% of it
Venting so much thanks MC is a great place to VENT

Greenland isn't a country, and it's full of Danes. I don't see any problem.

realistically it wont wind up like those and will wind up more like puerto rico which would suck for greenland quite a bit

You people keep talking about how Puerto Rico is fucked up. It's because they choose to not comply fully with the tenets and customs of U.S. policy and Congress allows this for some strange reason they want some of the perks but refuse to buy into the system which ever state un the country does.
If they want to be like that the US should cut them the fuck loose. Let them see how the fuck that works out for them.

Exactly where did I say I was at a business meeting at midnight?
Actually I have called people in for a meeting multiple times at such very late hours - Several times in my looooong career. Most often at Globalstar ground Command and Control Stations during Launches - Also thinks of the time I once worked for 3 days in row/no sleep no sitting down and meetings during very very late hours with other members of the design team met to discuss while we all continued to get something done for a FAMOUS Electronic Show - Product at show failed to actually work because of just one Mistrake which was mine during one of those meetings - Happy to share how much I fucked up on that (Human endurance ain't always good)

I do believe Mexico would be a lot nicer country if it were run by America. You can look at the ratio of Mexicans immigrating to America (legal or otherwise) vs. Americans immigrating to Mexico and it's obvious. It's a really badly run country and very few people want to live there.
